We are looking forward to introducing you to using the space, but first, please carefully read the Terms & Conditions outlined below and ensure you complete the induction form prior to booking your mandatory OH&S Studio Induction.

USER AGREEMENT

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SPACE AND EQUIPMENT HIRE

In general;

- It is  highly recommended and encouraged you take out Public Liability Insurance Cover as any work undertaken within the space is your responsibility and falls on the ownice of the person hiring the space.

-       As a co-working space, it is important to respect those around you by conducting yourself in a professional manner, understanding spatial awareness and have consideration of noise levels.

-       It is essential that you understand you are responsible for your own safe professional practice, along with product you create within the hire space and are accountable for your personal well being. 

- If you are interested in using the hot desk area for an extended period of time please do advise the Community Manager or contact us.

All equipment hire conditions;

Before you start using any hire equipment within the Designer and Maker Space, you will be required to undertake a one-off Work Place/OH&S Induction for a fee of $30.00 AUD.

This is an opportunity for any questions you may have about specific equipment, it includes basic refreshers/demonstrations included (if needed), as we understand machines can vary in build and design.

Operating the equipment:

  • It is essential you are already familiar with using industrial sewing machine equipment. This is for your own safety, along with to ensure that you are not faced with any difficulties when operating the equipment.

  • If you require any private tuition in operating the equipment, and perhaps even need to learn how to use industrial sewing machinery, please book a 1 hour private tuition session upon making your Induction OHS booking through the booking calendar.

  • Industrial equipment is generally very hardy and made to last. All equipment is in good working order for you upon arrival. If there is any misuse of equipment you will be required to pay any subsequent repair fees.

    Tools, Materials and Notions:

  • You must supply your own sewing kit which may include things such as fabric scissors, pins, sewing needles, chalk etc, which you may need for your specific projects.

  • Pattern Making Paper and card is available for purchase - Pattern paper is 50c per metre and pattern card is $2 per metre (Square Card Reader Payment (1.9% surcharge applies), Direct Deposit and Cash Payment is accepted for these items).

  • Any hardware; eyelets and snap fasteners are to be purchased separately.

  • Some specialty equipment have an additional hourly hire fee on top of the standard hire rate. The speciality hire equipment is not limited to all items marked with a pink dot in the studio.

    This includes but is not limited to;
    - Eyelet/Snap Fastener Hand Press (Hardware purchased separately)
    - Walking Foot Machine 
    - Automatic Block Fuse Press Machine
    - Regular Button Hole Machine

  • Straight Stitch Industrial machines come set up with a needly in each machine. If broken, please replace. If not replaced, there is an additional charge $2.00 replacement charge per needle.

  • Please supply your own thread, materials and notions for your projects. Only a limited supply of notions are available on site for purchase.

  • Please leave the hire space and equipment neat and tidy, as you found it.

  • Dispose of any larger fabric scraps, paper/card/recyclables, general waste in the different allocated bins after you finish using the space.

Booking and payment options;

  • A minimum of 1 hour is required for any casual booking for Designer & Maker Space. 

  • Subject to availability, add on hours to a current booking may be possible to be added on the day. Please contact the community manager in the space if you require this.

  • Cancellation, rescheduling fees apply - Cancel 24 hours in advance or reschedule will result in a $30.00AUD administrative fee which is deducted from your total payment or card on file or remaining amount ( if applicable any remaining amount is refunded, surcharges apply).

    No Shows - As we hold the space for your time slot, please understand we do not refund your booking for No Shows.

  • All bookings are made through the platform Calendly. You will have access to the calendar schedule 3 working weeks in advance, which sends out automated reminders 48 hours prior to booking, allowing you the opportunity of 24 hours to reschedule if need be prior to the final 24 hour period.

  • Space and equipment is subject to availability, please ensure your carefully check your booking time slot confirmation via email confirmation with the platform Calendly booking system.
